If you read yesterday's edition, you know the statewide fireworks ban had been lifted. Overnight, that changed for many of our readers.

Following approval by the Utah State Forester, consumer fireworks are now prohibited in Harrisville, North Ogden, Pleasant View, and Farr West from July 22–25, covering the entire Pioneer Day discharge period.

After North View Fire District and city leaders initially announced partial restrictions, residents voiced concerns about current wildfire conditions. The district met again with the mayors of the affected cities and requested expanded restrictions from the State Forester, who approved the request.

The district says the decision reflects its commitment to protecting the community while responding to community feedback.
