Lindquist Family Symphony Pops Concert Trades Fireworks for 500 Drones This Year

One of Ogden's most beloved summer traditions returns this month — with a dazzling twist. The 47th annual Lindquist Family Symphony Pops Concert will light up the night at Weber State University on Sunday, July 12, and this year, 500 synchronized drones will take the place of the event's traditional fireworks finale.

The shift from fireworks to drones lets audiences enjoy an unforgettable show while aligning with statewide efforts to minimize fire risk — a spectacular sight that promises to be every bit as memorable as years past.

Since 1978, the Pops Concert has dazzled crowds and brought the community together against the stunning backdrop of the Wasatch Mountains. The free celebration found its home in Ogden thanks to John A. and Telitha E. Lindquist, and nearly 50 years later, John E. Lindquist, president of Lindquist Mortuaries and Cemeteries, proudly continues the tradition.

Event Highlights

🎻 Live performance by the New American Philharmonic at the iconic Ada Lindquist Plaza

🎵 Tchaikovsky's beloved "1812 Overture," featuring a battery of 16 cannons from the Cannoneers of the Wasatch

🍴 Food trucks and vendors on site throughout the evening
