The valley's new city just settled what to call itself — "Ogden Valley City" stays.
The valley's new city will stay "Ogden Valley City." After months of resident surveys and a pointed public debate, the City Council voted 4-1 last week to keep the name.
The vote closes a long chapter. Residents left "unincorporated Weber County" to incorporate their own city, and a name advisory committee spent months gathering input — with alternatives like "Pineview" drawing real support along the way.
Not everyone's happy, and council members split openly before landing on the status quo. But the paperwork now has an answer.

🎡 Heads-Up: The Fair Opens Tomorrow
The Weber County Fair runs Wednesday–Saturday at Golden Spike Event Center. Rodeo opens it Wednesday at 7 p.m.; the Fair Days Parade (4 p.m.) and Demolition Derby (7 p.m.) close it Saturday.

Vocal Motion rehearses Tuesdays at Wahlquist Jr. High in Farr West — its new Youth Co. for ages 6–8 takes no audition.
Who they are
Vocal Motion is North Weber County's youth show choir for ages 6–18, rehearsing every Tuesday at Wahlquist Jr. High in Farr West, in Youth, Junior, and Senior companies.
What makes them unique
This isn't just singing practice. Every student records a music video each semester and performs in a live concert — real stage experience from day one. It's led by owner-director Brittany Bennett, a former percussionist with Bells on Temple Square and the Orchestra at Temple Square during the 2002 Winter Olympics, who's directed youth performance groups since 2015.
