The #1 Roth Conversion Mistake That Costs Retirees

Most people missed the first Roth conversion window. History is offering a rare second chance — but not a long one.

With today's tax rates extended, IRA Millionaires have a brief stretch of historically low brackets left. When it closes, the math changes: higher rates, bigger required distributions, and fewer conversion opportunities each year you wait.

Craig Wear, CFP®, has spent 15+ years helping more than 3,000 families with $1M+ in IRAs plan Roth conversions — helping them avoid a projected $10B+ in lifetime taxes. His new book, Roth Conversion Reset, is the step-by-step playbook:

Lock in today's low rates
Avoid RMD surprises at 73
Protect your spouse from survivor taxes
Keep more for your heirs

The book is free — no credit card, no shipping. The full PDF lands in your inbox in minutes.

🎨 Friday Night, Downtown Becomes a Gallery

New exhibits open all over downtown on First Friday — and most of it is free to wander.

Ogden's First Friday Art Stroll is the best free night out in the county — and it's tomorrow.

Picture it: a warm summer evening on Historic 25th, gallery doors propped open, live music drifting onto the sidewalks, and new art around every corner. From 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, downtown and the Nine Rails Creative District turn into one big open-air exhibition.

Wander into Ogden Contemporary Arts, the Eccles Art Center, Dumke Arts Plaza, and The Monarch, meet the artists at their openings, then land at The Local Artisan Collective for the free Community Tiny Art Show and live music with Wood Carver (6:30–9). No tickets, no plan required — just follow the music.

📌 Worth knowing before you go
🅿️ Park once near Union Station and walk east up 25th — the street fills fast
🖼️ Start at the Union Station end and stroll uphill toward Washington
🎨 The Tiny Art Show is the free must-do — bring the kids early
🕘 Some venues stay open past 9, so there's no rush
🌡️ It's still warm at 6 — dress light and bring water

🍽️ Before you go: make a night of it — 25th Street is lined with local restaurants, and Grounds for Coffee (111 25th) sits right on the route for a coffee or a treat mid-stroll.

📅 Friday, Aug 7 · 6–9 p.m. (some venues later)

🌟 ONE GOOD THING

Here's an easy good deed this weekend. United Way of Northern Utah's Stuff the Bus drive will be at the Ogden Farmers Market on Saturday, collecting new backpacks and school supplies for kids across the community. Toss an extra backpack in your cart while you shop — it'll reach a student who needs it before day one.
