🎡 It's the Fair's Final Day — Send It Off Right

The Weber County Fair wraps today, and it saves the best for last. The barns and midway run until 11, but the day belongs to two things: the Fair Days Parade at 4 and the Demolition Derby at 7.

Get your fair-food fix, watch the livestock kids take their final laps, and stake out a spot for the derby — it's the loudest, most fun hour of the whole week.

With highs near 98°, the evening is the move. Come after the sun drops, bring more water than you think you need, and let the day cool into the derby and the parade.

Going tonight? Derby tickets ($38, includes entry) sell out — check webercountyfair.org before you drive out, and park a few blocks off to beat the lot.

🌤️ Three Ways to Spend Today

👨‍👩‍👧 Family Pick — Ogden Farmers Market (8 a.m.–1 p.m., Historic 25th)
Peaches, local makers, and shade before the heat. Why: the coolest, easiest family hours of the day — and you can drop a spare backpack for the Stuff the Bus drive while you're there. Tip: bring cash; some stalls are cash-only.

🌄 Outdoor Pick — Snowbasin Blues & Brews (noon–6, $10)
Live blues and cold local brews at 6,400 feet. Why: the only way to be outside at midday and enjoy it — the canyon runs ~15° cooler. Tip: pack a blanket and head up before the afternoon lot fills.

🌙 Evening Pick — The Demolition Derby (7 p.m., Golden Spike)
Crunching metal, a packed grandstand, and the Fair's grand finale. Why: it's the most fun you'll have tonight, hands down. Tip: get there by 6:30 — the grandstand packs in fast.

🧭 Local tip: Historic 25th stays shaded until about 10:30 — hit the Farmers Market early, then move on before it bakes.

🌟 ONE GOOD THING

None of today happens by itself. The parade, the barns, the derby, the ribbons — it all runs on hundreds of Weber County volunteers: 4-H leaders, fair-board members, parade organizers, and neighbors giving up a hot August week so the rest of us can have a great one. If you see them today, say thanks.
