🌄 Best Outdoor — Snowbasin Blues & Brews (Sat–Sun)
Live blues and cold local brews at 6,400 feet. Why: the smart way to be outside in a heat wave — the canyon runs ~15° cooler.

Start downtown at the free First Friday Art Stroll (6–9, Historic 25th + Nine Rails). Prefer a seat? "Hairspray" is at Peery's Egyptian (7:30) and "Waiting for Godot" runs at Good Company Theatre. And it's the Fair's last Friday night — open till 11 at Golden Spike.

Beat the heat early at the Ogden Farmers Market (8–1, 25th St) — and bring a spare backpack for the Stuff the Bus drive. Then it's the Fair's grand finale: Junior Livestock Auction (9), Fair Days Parade (4), Demolition Derby (7). Need school gear? The free K-12 Back to School Bash runs 10–2 at Weber State. Or escape the heat with Snowbasin Blues & Brews (noon–6, $10).

Slow it down. Snowbasin serves a Mountain-Top Brunch (10–2:30) and more Blues & Brews (noon–6) — Sunday brings Jordan Matthew Young + King Cabbage Brass Band. Close the night with Americana from Alex Dunn at The Proper Way (6 p.m.), or catch the Sunday matinee of "Waiting for Godot."

The Weber County Fair goes out loud: the Junior Livestock Auction at 9, the Fair Days Parade at 4, and the always-packed Demolition Derby at 7. Why: it's the single biggest, most Weber-County thing you can do this weekend. Tip: buy derby tickets ahead — they sell out.

🆓 Best Free — First Friday Art Stroll (tonight)
Galleries, live music, and the free Community Tiny Art Show, all along downtown. Why: the best free night out in the county — no tickets, no plan, just follow the music. Tip: park near Union Station and stroll east up 25th.

Waterfall Canyon Trail. Tucked into Ogden's east-bench foothills, this steep little out-and-back — about 2.5 miles round trip from the 29th Street Trailhead — climbs to a 200-foot waterfall, with shade and cool air the whole way up. The falls run lighter by late summer, but the canyon stays a cool escape. Go early, before the heat sets in.

Hot and sunny — near 99° all weekend. Morning is for markets and trails. Midday is for air conditioning. Evening is for the Fair, the festivals, and the canyon.
